A Taste of Origami Christmas Workshop

Basingstoke Discovery Centre

Saturday 30th November 2024

10.00am to 1.00pm

To create personalised festive Christmas decorations through engaging and
creative origami projects.

Craft an origami Christmas tree
Create charming origami gift toppers like Santa/ jingle bells
Create an origami Christmas star

About the course: You will learn few basic origami folding techniques to create various origami models like a tree, star, Santa Clause and learn unique ways to use them

Who is this course for: Anyone who wants to create personalise unique Christmas gifts while learning a new skill

Previous knowledge or experience: No previous knowledge is required. If you already know origami, learn how to use models in different and unique ways

How will I learn: By folding models following tutor’s instructions and support

How will I be assessed: Tutor observation

What shall I bring:

8 -10 Origami sheets preferably
2 red sheets (red on one side and white on the other side)
1-2 green sheets
3 yellow sheets (yellow on one side and white on the other side)
A few extra sheets (or you can bring whatever coloured sheets you have for learning purposes.)
Markers, glue, scissors, string

If a learner decides to withdraw from a course before a course begins, the following charges should be made:

• 5 working days or more before course starts a full refund will be issued

• No refunds will normally be made if a learner withdraws from a course less than 4 working days before the start of the course

Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.

You will be contacted by a member of the learning in Libraries team prior to the course. We are unable to process your booking without a phone number.

Please note that due to circumstances outside of our control we may need to move this course online. Please give consent to your image appearing on our virtual learning environment Zoom.
