To introduce Learners to the Basics of Computers, Internet & Email.

  • Know how to switch the computer on/off
  • Know basic terminology
  • Use a mouse
  • Understand the layout of the keyboard and important keys
  • How to open & use Microsoft Word
  • Understand File management & storage using folders
  • Know about Health & Safety around computers
  • Recognise Window features and access Windows Settings
  • Access the Internet
  • Use keyboard shortcuts
  • Use of emails

Who is this course for: Individuals who would like to learn the basics of using a computer and how to get online

Previous knowledge/experience required: None required, but a willingness to learn

How will I learn: By discussion, demonstration and practical tasks

How will I be assessed: By completion of tasks and Q&A

For the first session you will need to buy/bring: Notepad & Pen or Pencil
