Beginners Introduction to Sewing

New Milton Library

Monday 31st October, 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th November 2022

2.00pm to 4.00pm

Learn the basic operation of your sewing machine, learn about the different needles, feet and tension. You will also learn and practise all the stitches your machine can do.

  • Describe the basics of your sewing machine, threading the needle, winding the bobbin up and tension of the stitches
  • Identify 6 different utility stitches and 2 machine feet
  • Sew 1 sampler of all the utility stitches your machine can do, explore how to change the sizes of 3 stitches
  • Apply your new knowledge to produce 2 simple projects
  • Identify how to read and follow a simple pattern provided for you by your tutor

About the Course: On this course you will learn to understand how your sewing machine works, how to thead the needle, how to adapt tension on your machine and explore the utility stitches, you will also be guided on how to read and follow a simple pattern

Who is this course for: Anyone who would like an introduction to sewing and using their Sewing Machine
