Self-Guided Learning – Time to Talk: An introduction to communication development

This e-learning session looks at enhancing your understanding of how communication develops. The training can be done in your setting or at home and focuses on identifying a child’s strengths and needs as well as how attention and listening, understanding and talking develop.

The e-learning contains video examples, top tips, ideas and strategies that you can use within your setting to support children’s communication development.

By the end of the e-learning participants will;

Have a clear understanding of the building blocks of communication development
Have tools to support the identification of a child’s communication strengths and needs
Know how to support a child's attention, understanding and talking
Increase confidence at supporting children who are learning more than one language
Know where and how to seek further support
Please note this training is run through the SfYC Moodle pages and you will therefore require computer and speaker access. You will also need to provide an up to date email address to enable access to the e-learning.

This session should take about 3 hours to complete.

Once you have purchased an a place a Moodle log on will be e-mailed to you.

NON-HAMPSHIRE, OUT OF COUNTY SCHOOLS AND SETTINGS – All schools, settings and other organisations outside of Hampshire will be charged a 15% surcharge on top of the standard cost. If a member of the SfYC team needs to travel outside of the county to deliver training, expenses/mileage may be charged from the Hampshire border. Price on application.
