Embroidered Partridge Christmas Decoration

During this half-day course, we will create gorgeous embroidered felt decorations, learning some basic embroidery and embellishment techniques. This Christmas Partridge decoration is perfect for gifting and the workshop will equip you with the skills to create many more. You will learn whilst being in a relaxed, friendly, classroom setting, connecting with likeminded people.

You will learn how to make a lovely bird shaped Christmas decoration, along with some skills that can be transferred to other projects. Your decoration will be based on then example picture, with the opportunity to adapt the design according to your skill level.

Who is this course for: Anyone with an interest in hand embroidery, looking to learn new techniques and meeting like minded people

Previous knowledge or experience: Some previous experience of embroidery would be helpful, however beginners are also welcome

How will I learn: Tutor led instruction and demonstration and 1 to 1 help if required.

What shall I bring: Pieces of felt in your choice of various colours, embroidery threads in a variety of colours, a short length of ribbon (about 7” long), a small amount of toy stuffing, scissors suitable for cutting your felt, hand embroidery needles, pins. Please bring small beads / sequins if you have them, however a selection will be provided by the tutor, so please don’t feel that you need to buy any especially. Please bring your own water or refreshments

Next steps: Progression opportunities from this course are : Further Learning in Libraries embroidery courses, creating other embroidered decorations to complete the set (a pear would make a lovely addition!), creating more birds as gifts for others
