It is a practical Paediatric first aid program that will give the learner skills to be able to respond to everyday first aid emergencies, in the home and in the community.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe course is set over one day. This is an instructor led, interactive and engaging session, and will be certificated as Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid Qualification, for which a fee of £25 applies. A Level 3 First Aid Qualification is designed for those who have an interest in child and baby Basic Life Support, governed by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or OFSTED. This course covers life-threatening conditions including CPR, bleeding control and choking.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLearning Goals:\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDemonstrate how to maintain an effective airway and place an unconscious\/breathing infant\/ child into the recovery position\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDemonstrate CPR on an infant \u0026amp; child and recognise the signs of agonal breathing\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDemonstrate supporting a child or infant choking – 5 back blasts, 5 abdominal thrusts, or chest thrusts for an infant under one. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eList three priorities of care when supporting an infant or child in shock\/bleeding.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eThe course will also cover how to act safely and effectively when an accident or emergency occurs, what the treatment and priorities of care are for an unconscious infant or child. You will be able to recognise and treat a child or infant having a seizure, and recognise the signs of cardiac arrest. You will learn how to use a defibrillator. You will also learn the treatment and priorities of care for minor injuries, cuts, grazes, splinters.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWho is this course for: \u003c\/strong\u003eThis course, funded by UK government is for Hampshire residents aged 19+ looking to develop a stronger sense of community. It is ideal for those with personal caring responsibilities, volunteering roles, active community members, or anyone looking to boost confidence and employability—such as people returning to work.
