Florence Nightingale: her life viewed from the archives

Online talk

Monday 30th January 2023

6.00pm to 7.00pm

We all know of Florence Nightingale’s work nursing soldiers in the Crimean War, but did you know that she influenced the training of nurses and the design of hospitals, as well as being a pioneer in the use of statistics? She spent much of her early life in Hampshire at Embley Park near Romsey.

This talk will shed light on parts of that story through her forthright letters, family drawings and other sources held at Hampshire Record Office.
