Get to know your iPad

1.30pm to 3.30pm
An introduction to iPads for new owners or those thinking of buying one. Also suitable for those who already own an iPad but would like to get more out of it.
- Demonstrate the basic connections and controls
- Set up your iPad with an Apple ID and iCloud account
- Recognise common symbols and terms associated with iPads
- Use common gestures to operate your iPad
- Select, organise, open and close apps from the Home Screen
- Adjust basic settings including connecting to wi-fi
- Use the camera and video recorder
- Find and install apps in the App Store
- Use the iPad for keeping in touch
Who is this course for: New owners or those thinking of buying one. Also suitable for those who already own an iPad but would like to get more out of it
Previous Knowledge or Experience: A general knowledge of computing with traditional laptops/computers would be an advantage
How will I learn: By demonstration and hands-on practice. Practice between lessons is highly recommended. Each lessons builds on the previous one.
How will I be assessed: By completing tasks during the lessons
What shall I bring:
Entry code (PIN) to your iPad if one is set
Email address AND password
Apple ID (which may or may not be your email address) AND password
Mobile phone if you have one
Paper and pen to take notes
An apple iPad fully charged (if you do not have one, you may be able to borrow one from the tutor. Please let us know when booking)
Charging cable and plug adapter

This course is aimed at Hampshire residents aged 19+ Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
