Jewellery Making for Wellbeing

Come and discover your craft skills in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration. You will be introduced to basic methods of jewellery making and helped to feel more confident.
- Select and use a range of beads to produce jewellery item, taking into account suitability and how colour/texture improve mood
- Produce at least six pieces of jewellery (bracelet, earrings and necklace)
- Identify how the repetitive movement and hand positioning helps lower anxiety

About the Course: Creative activities are a useful tool for improving your health and wellbeing, particularly for those feeling isolated. This fun and friendly course will also help you to improve your confidence at trying a new craft
Who is this course for: Individuals who would like to engage with arts to help improve their physical and mental wellbeing
Previous Knowledge or Experience: No previous knowledge or experience is required. The threading of beads etc can be quite tricky so manual dexterity is a requirement. If you require glasses for close up work, please have them with you
How will I learn: through tutor demonstration and class participation
How will I be assessed: tutor observations and creation of pieces of jewellery
What shall I bring: All equipment is provided for the price of £20
Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
