Junior Farm Rangers is a farm-based activity session designed specifically for children aged 8 – 14 years. Please note, parents will not be accompanying their child on this activity.

During the session, children will have the opportunity to learn through experience by taking part in practical activities around the farm such as feeding the animals, collecting hay or poo picking. None of these tasks are guaranteed and may vary each session. Children will be provided with all the equipment they need to complete the farm tasks.

The session is 90 minutes long.

Additional information

Adults are to drop their child at the Farm shop, where they will be met and supervised by a member of the education team. If adults wish to visit the farm, they must pay standard admission or present a valid membership card. However, we do recommend for adults to not follow the group around the farm during their session as this can be distracting for the children and can disturb the group and please be considerate if taking photos of your child as there will be others in the group. You will be required to fill out an online T&C form regarding the behaviour of children and will also be required to fill in and bring with you a form containing the child’s and the adult’s information which the activity leader will keep.

Children will be escorted off site, back to the Farm shop and supervised until their parent has arrived to collect them.

The group will meet outside the Farm Shop (by the plant sales) at the start of each session.

Please read the T&C’s:

Please Park in the main car park. You get 20 minutes free parking, so plenty if just dropping off and leaving site again. If you are longer than 20 minutes, please put your vehicle registration in the tablets in the visitor centre to receive free parking.

Please wait outside the Farm Shop. You will need to bring your e-receipt with you (this can be on a device). Please ensure you are there 5 minutes before your session start time.

The activities will take place around Staunton Farm. Please make sure your child comes dressed for the weather, warm clothes and waterproofs are advisable. Overalls for children will be provided and must be worn due to our biosecurity measures. All participants should be wearing welly boots or suitable walking shoes. NO sandals or any open toed shoes. We do not provide shoes, and any inappropriate shoes will result in not being able to take part in the activity.
