Local Heritage Session

Hythe Library

Friday 27th January 2023

10.00am to 12.00pm

Local Historian Helen Wallbridge will look at the local heritage that matters to you at Hythe Library.

What does Heritage mean to you? Maybe you are interested in local history, researching your family tree, or recording family memories. At this session, we will look at some of the heritage in the local area and offer help with your research or developing your ideas. We would like to gauge whether there is interest in creating a community heritage project or setting up future heritage-based events. Everyone is welcome, no prior experience or knowledge is necessary.

Delivered by Archaeologist and Local Historian Helen Wallbridge. Helen's recent projects include the D-Day Wall in Southampton, leading heritage walks, genealogical research and local listing of heritage in the New Forest. Specialising in community engagement, she loves to help people discover their heritage, wherever in the world that might be, and to connect people with the past, revealing the places and events that connect us. History is everywhere, often hidden in plain sight. There are so many untold stories just waiting to be discovered! What will your story be?

Price: £3.00 per person
