Mindfulness for Stress Relief

Tuesday 17th, 24th, 31st January, 7th, 21st, 28th February 7th and 14th March 2023

To offer a range of mindfulness techniques to allow you to reduce your stress levels.

  • Identify daily opportunities to reduce stress
  • Demonstrate a variety of meditation techniques to increase our ability to relax
  • Describe how living in the past and future can be negative
  • Show how to use mindfulness to tune into the present moment to reduce negative habitual thoughts

Who is this course for: Anyone who is interested in learning mindfulness techniques to help reduce their stress levels. Participants are expected to commit to 15-30 minutes of mindfulness meditation practice per day for the duration of the course, without which progress is unlikely

Previous knowledge or experience: No previous knowledge is required. You will be asked to complete a mental and physical health assessment form before you begin the course

How will I learn: Tutor demonstration, verbal cues, learner and group participation, tutor feedback

How will I be assessed: Tutor feedback, self assessment

Regular meditation practise has been demonstrated to have enormous health benefits.  It does this by increasing our awareness of how our habitual thoughts can create suffering and by enhancing positive choices in daily life.   Relaxation has massive health benefits because it activates the body’s own healing systems.

Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
