Demonstrate improved co-ordination, mobility, strength and flexibility performing seated dance and exercises.
- Demonstrate improved movement memory, co-ordination, and rhythm through the performance of seated dances
- Demonstrate improved strength by performing exercises with resistance
- Demonstrate improved core strength by performing exercises that tighten the abdominal muscles
- Display increased range of movement by performing seated stretches
Who is this course for: The course is aimed at those over 60 years of age or at anyone with mobility problems, that would prefer seated exercise
Previous Knowledge or Experience: No previous knowledge required
How will I learn: It is important to keep moving to stay fit and healthy in our everyday lives and activities and to promote well-being. Physical fitness can be improved through seated dance and will increase the heart rate. You will also be able to connect with others and your tutor through this online course
How will I be assessed: You will be assessed by tutor observation of performance of seated dances and exercises. All learners will be encouraged to progress and achieve the learning goals listed above to promote well-being and improve fitness. There is no formal assessment
What shall I bring: Comfortable clothing to move in and a drink. A chair for seated exercises
