Watercolour Daisy Workshop

10.00am to 12.30pm

To draw and paint daisy-style flowers using watercolour paints in a relaxed and friendly environment.

  • How to draw and paint watercolour daisies from different angles
  • How to layer watercolour paint towards the finished piece, using both ‘wet in wet’ and ‘wet on dry’ techniques
  • How to use highlight and shadows to building 3-dimensional effect

About the course: This workshop is designed to cater for a range of abilities from complete novices to those who already have a little experience. It is also good for those who have painted in the past and are looking for a little kick start back into watercolours.

  • This course will look at how to draw ox-eye daisies from multiple angles, and will cover simple techniques to deal with perspective and foreshortening
  • With live painting demonstrations and an easy to follow step-by-step process you will learn how to draw and paint a range of different daisy-style flowers in multiple colours
  • Your progress will be assessed via informal discussion at the beginning and end of the session

What shall I bring: watercolour paints with a mixing tray, a selection of large and small brushes, watercolour paper, HB pencil and eraser, a plastic pot or an ice cube tray to hold water. (Please don’t bring anything breakable.)

Next steps: This course will equip you with a good understanding of the basics of watercolour painting that will enable you to move on to more challenging courses and other workshops with Alice and the libraries

If a learner decides to withdraw from a course before a course begins, the following charges should be made:

  • 5 working days or more before course starts a full refund will be issued  
  • No refunds will normally be made if a learner withdraws from a course less than 4 working days before the start of the course

Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
