Workouts don’t have to be a chore with Zumba, it’s a fun, social dance party – with exercise being the biggest perk - since it takes place in a group setting, Zumba is by far one of the best ways to get your friends in on your “exercise routine.”

  • Improve different elements of your fitness (flexibility, muscular strength, and cardio-vascular fitness)
  • Stimulate the heart rate and breathing rate to increase in a way that can be sustained for the exercise session
  • Identify how regular fitness can help prevent illness and promote physical and emotional health

Identify how to build your fitness from complete beginner or from injury recovery
Who is this course for? Anyone who would like try Zumba in order to be more active, flexible and more relaxed. Zumba targets lots of different muscle groups and boosts your heart health. You not only get aerobic benefits (it really gets your heart rate up!), you also get anaerobic benefits – the kind that help you maintain a good cardiovascular respiratory system.

Previous Knowledge or Experience: No previous knowledge or experience is required. This is a medium-high intensity and medium impact (there are some jumps in the routines) course

What shall I bring: You will need to wear suitable, loose clothing and trainers, and have a bottle of water to hand.  All learners must complete a health checklist form prior to starting the course. You will need to have a safe, trip free space to Zumba in and your cameras on for the whole session

How will I learn: By watching and joining in

How will I be assessed: by tutor observation and question and answers

Progression opportunities from this course are: Further paid Zumba sessions, other fitness courses

Evidence shows there is a link between being physically active and good mental wellbeing.

Regular exercise has been linked to decreasing stress, depression and anxiety.
