Workouts don’t have to be a chore with Zumba, it’s a fun, social dance party – with exercise being the biggest perk - since it takes place in a group setting, Zumba is by far one of the best ways to get your friends in on your “exercise routine.”

  • Improve different elements of your fitness (flexibility, muscular strength, and cardio-vascular fitness)
  • Stimulate the heart rate and breathing rate to increase in a way that can be sustained for the exercise session
  • Identify how regular fitness can help prevent illness and promote physical and emotional health
  • Identify how to build your fitness from complete beginner or from injury recovery

Who is this course for: Zumba Gold is aimed at active older adults, people who have never tried Zumba before, people recovering from injuries or that are getting back to being active, and people who want a gentle workout. This invigorating Latin-inspired, dance-fitness program includes Merengue, Salsa, Cumbia, Belly Dance, Flamenco and Tango. Zumba Gold will help participants to maintain functional capacity, reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, retard the progression of chronic diseases, and promote psychological wellbeing.

Previous Knowledge or Experience: No previous knowledge or experience is required. This course is low impact (no jumps)

How will I learn: By watching and joining in

How will I be assessed: by tutor observation and question and answers
