Collection: Learning in Libraries

Learning in Libraries, part of Hampshire Achieves Adult Tailored Learning, offers a range of adult learning courses funded by the Department for Education in libraries across the county and online. In addition, we also run a range of paid for courses and workshops.

To be eligible for our funded courses learners must live in the Hampshire County Council local authority area, be 19 years of age or older and meet one of the below criteria:

• Receiving Income Support / Universal Credit / Other Income Benefit (e.g. Employment Support Allowance, Job Seeker Allowance, Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance, Housing Benefit)
• Have school-aged children who qualify for free school meals
• Household earnings are less than £25,750 annual gross salary per year
• Currently unemployed & seeking work / or at risk of redundancy
• Have refugee or asylum status (with 6 months UK residency)
• Have a learning difficulty or disability
• Are facing physical and/or mental wellbeing challenges
• Local Provider Policy: You are a currently an unpaid volunteer and the course is relevant to your role / Hampshire foster carer / Hampshire care leaver
• Adult on a temporary licence outside a prison environment
• Professional Referral e.g. Social Prescriber, Social Worker, DWP etc.

Due to our funding regulations, we are only able to guarantee 1 free course per academic year per learner. If you are interested in further free courses, please contact learninginlibraries@hants.gov.uk to be added to the waiting list.
