Atmospheric Acrylic Sunsets Workshop with Rachel

Saturday 25th May and 1st June 2024

10.00am to 12.30pm

Increase your confidence applying colour and mark-making inspired by sunsets.

  • Create at least one artwork based on sunsets
  • Mix impactful secondary and tertiary colours
  • Explore and apply a range of mark making tools
  • Increase understanding of contrast and its role in evoking light
  • Demonstrate an individual approach

About the course: Two approachable sessions offering a taster into creating atmospheric acrylic landscapes

Who is this course for: Ideal for adult learners looking to develop fundamental painting skills

Previous knowledge or experience: Beginners and improvers welcome. Some experience of water-based paint mediums is helpful but not essential

How will I learn: Step by step process, demonstration, exploration and encouragement to be individual in your approach

How will I be assessed: Through completing activities and group discussion

What shall I bring:

-Acrylic paints - minimum primary red, blue, yellow plus white and black

-Brushes

-An A4 canvas board (approx.) or mixed media paper (minimum weight 250gsm)

-An apron or wear old clothes

Rachel will supply drawing boards, palettes, mark making tools, and texture mediums

Next steps: Book on please and kick start your creativity. This course could lead to other Learning in Libraries courses such as Atmospheric Beachscapes. Alternatively, join a local art group such as Tadley & Baughurst Art Club, Oakridge West Art Club and Westside Community Art Club

If a learner decides to withdraw from a course before a course begins, the following charges should be made:

  • 5 working days or more before course starts a full refund will be issued
  • No refunds will normally be made if a learner withdraws from a course less than 4 working days before the start of the course
