Cosy Hooded Wrap Sewing Workshop

10.00am to 1.00pm

During this half-day course, we will sew a simple reversible wrap with a hood, which makes a lovely gift, perfect for chilly autumn evenings. You will improve upon your sewing techniques whilst being in a relaxed, friendly, classroom setting, connecting and learning with likeminded people.

About the course: During this half-day course, you will sew a simple reversible wrap with a hood, perfect for chilly autumn evenings.

Who is this course for: Anyone interested in sewing with a machine, from beginners to advanced sewists, all welcome.

Previous knowledge or experience: An understanding of the basic functions of your sewing machine required.

How will I learn: Demonstration, discussion and 1 to 1 help if needed.

What shall I bring: Sewing machine in working order with foot and bobbin, threaded with plenty of appropriate colour thread for your fabric; spare needles for sewing machine plus a hand sewing needle; pins; fabric scissors; 2 contrasting fabrics required to make the wrap (recommended fabrics: needlecord, lightweight denim, cotton, or
similar. No stretchy or slippery fabrics please!), quantity confirmed upon booking. If you would like to be eco-friendly / creative, you are welcome to reuse an old bedsheet, tablecloth or other fabric. Please bring your own water or refreshments. If you are interested in joining this workshop but unsure about materials, you are welcome to make contact with the tutor via the Learning in Libraries team to discuss.
