This is an online course using Zoom.

Demonstrate co-ordination, rhythm, strength, flexibility and improved cardiovascular fitness by performing high and low intensity aerobic dance routines.

Learning Goals:

  • Perform at least 4 high and low intensity dance routines demonstrating improved co-ordination, rhythm and musicality
  • Perform 2 dances with added resistance to demonstrate strength
  • Perform standing abdominal dance fitness exercises to demonstrate improved core strength including the side tilt, leg reaches and standing abdominal crunch
  • Perform 2 stretch and flow routines to demonstrate increased range of movement and flexibility and describe the impact of dance on wellbeing

About the Course: Dance your way to fitness in the comfort of your own home. An inclusive course for all to improve cardio fitness, strength, flexibility and tone to inspiring music. The course will explore a variety of dance genres and is suitable for any age, level or ability

Who is this course for: This course is for adults of all ages, wanting to improve their fitness levels from the comfort of their own home

Previous Knowledge or Experience: No previous knowledge or experience is required

How will I learn: This cardio dance class will improve cardiovascular fitness levels and increase your step count. You will follow dance fitness routines to popular chart music and dance sculpting routines with resistance (light weights). The class will conclude with a cool down and stretch to improve flexibility.

This cardio dance class will mix high intensity and low impact dance fitness routines to promote calorie burning. The class is a dance fitness party and the time will fly by, leaving you with more energy for your day and increasing your sense of wellbeing.

How will I be assessed: There is no formal assessment for this course. We will chart your progress alongside the course learning goals and your individual goal for attending this course
