Developing Play in the Early Years – In House Training

This module will help you to develop knowledge of how to support children with social communication needs to develop their play skills. The training will support adults to understand how the three areas of difference impact on the development of play skills and to work together to remove barriers and make reasonable adjustments to help the child develop play skills.

Aims of the Module:

  • Understand that autism is a DIFFERENCE not a DEFICIT
  • Understand how the three areas of difference in autism impact on the development of play skills
  • Understand the importance of all adults working together to support the child to develop play skills
  • Develop knowledge of how to support autistic children to develop play skills
  • Create and deliver a plan to ensure progress in play skills, which includes consideration of how to remove barriers and make reasonable adjustments!

Early Years Play Practical Support Pack for settings & Early Years Play Parent Support Pack are both included with this module.

Modules can be delivered in your pre-school, nursery setting or to a childminding group.

Don't forget you can share the cost with another setting, or more with a maximum of 20 people per session. 

Modules can also be delivered to year R in schools and can be delivered in combination with other modules or MSA/GAP training.

Price: £300.00 half day (up to 20 learners)

NOTE FOR HAMPSHIRE SCHOOLS – please be aware that Hampshire schools must pay for training using IBC Internal Trading, so are unable to use this Shop.

Hampshire schools should submit this online booking request to book a place, remembering to include the contact name and SAP user-id of the finance/business officer.

This will allow SfYC to raise an Internal Supplier Request for the school to complete and make payment.

(Academies and independent schools are able to use payment cards)

NON-HAMPSHIRE, OUT OF COUNTY SCHOOLS AND SETTINGS – All schools, settings and other organisations outside of Hampshire will be charged a 15% surcharge on top of the standard cost.  If a member of the SfYC team needs to travel outside of the county to deliver training, expenses/mileage may be charged from the Hampshire border. Price on application.
