Working at your own pace, this is an opportunity to learn how to use a pattern to produce a garment/toile of your choosing. At the start of each lesson, learners create personal learning objectives, allowing learners to work on individual sewing projects with techniques aimed at their ability. You will learn the sewing jargon and techniques required for your individual project whilst being in a friendly, classroom setting, connecting and learning with likeminded people.

Learning Goals:

  • List 4 sewing terms required to sew/construct an item of your choice and define
  • Select and perform 3 skills required for sewing an individual project (e.g., seam neatening, sewing a dart, sewing a buttonhole)
  • Name and demonstrate how to finish off at least one seam on a garment of your choice (e.g., overlock stitch, binding, French seam)
  • Identify 2-3 ways that Sewing reduces stress.
