Expressive Watercolours

To introduce the exciting world of traditional and experimental expressive watercolour. Learners will create finished watercolour and mixed media artwork.
- Identify and discuss the subject of watercolour; including examples of artists work and the differences between more traditional and experimental watercolour
- Identify and apply appropriate visual language regarding both traditional and experimental watercolour techniques to your own artwork and in your final finished outcomes
- Identify and apply both traditional and experimental watercolour techniques, media, tools and equipment to your own artwork. Review your own creative practice
- To describe the effect using watercolours has on your mental wellbeing
About the course: This course is designed to introduce you to the exciting work of traditional and expressive watercolours
Who is this course for: Beginners but anyone can join this course as it provides a basic introduction to both traditional and experimental watercolour painting
Previous knowledge or experience: None required
How will I learn: Tutor demonstrations, questions and answers, visual resources/worksheets/hand-outs, practical activities. Option for learner to keep a written and visual working journal/sketchbook
How will I be assessed: Formative assessment through Q and A/tutor notes, learner note taking, practical activities/samples/artwork and keeping an on-going working journal/sketchbook
What shall I bring: Apron or wear old clothing. Optional A5 or A4 sketchbook/work journal. Materials fee
All other materials, tools, equipment and other resources will be provided by the tutor.
Next steps: Progression onto other learning in libraries arts and/or crafts courses and workshops or independent study
