Flight – Dance Project Performance

Conceived and choreographed by approx. 100 secondary students with additional performances from professional dancers. A new and exciting piece of dance, inspired by Gosport and its close links to flight: From birds to planes and beyond.
Please note this is an open air performance. You are welcome to bring your own foldable chair or picnic blanket.

Natasha Khamjani is an established choreographer with over fifteen years’ experience across the industry. She trained at London Studio Centre and worked as a versatile performer before deciding to concentrate on being a creative from behind the scenes. Although still finds herself making cameos on various projects, most recently with Rod Stewart! Her portfolio is varied and includes ceremonies, commercials, corporate work, trade/fashion/hair shows, viral campaigns as well as projects and commissions in theatre and education.
Her signature is to fuse a variety of styles together with a strong and sometimes humorous narrative to create something spectacular. Recent fusions have included lindy hop with hip hop and folk dance with hip hop.
She was delighted to have worked on all four Olympic Ceremonies as a Mass Movement Coordinator and Choreographer and was responsible for the four Maypoles in Danny Boyles ‘Green and Pleasant Land’ in the Opening Ceremony. In 2013 she was part of the creative/mass team for the Rugby League World Cup and in 2014 was part of the audition/flash team in Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games and the New Years Eve Parade in Newcastle.
Other commissions in 2014 included work for the Southbank, Big Dance and choreographing Beauty and the Beast at Theatre Royal in Stratford.
