NEW! Inclusion Conference 2025
‘We’ve tried that, and it didn’t work.’ A focus on understanding strategies and how to make them more effective
Saturday 1st March 2025
Winchester area
9.30am to 4.00pm
This full day Inclusion Conference will focus on understanding strategies and how to make them more effective. The event will include a keynote by Bryony Rust on making the most of your unique connection with each child, to build meaningful skills and affirming experiences. Bryony is a Speech and Language Therapist who specialises in supporting young children and their families.
Delegates will have the opportunity to book two workshops over the day and time will be allowed to network with colleagues. A link will be sent for you to make your workshop choices from the list below once payment has been received:
Workshop1: Do you know your Visuals?
Symbols, photos, real objects which one to use?
Concerned about ‘getting it wrong’ or knowing what to use and when to use it? Come along and find out about a variety of visuals and hear top tips for use and how to enhance communication opportunities and get a chance to make some too to take back to your setting. Let’s make visuals work for all children!
Workshop 2: Reflection on the Curiosity Approach
This workshop will be reflecting on the use of the Curiosity programme to ignite curiosity and develop interactions and engagement. Practitioners will also explore a range of activities and approaches to develop engagement because without engagement there is no deeper learning.
Workshop 3: An Introduction to Supporting Children’s Emotional well-being using the Thrive approach
Early Years Thrive is a dynamic developmental approach to working with babies and young children to promote and support their emotional wellbeing. It aims to help practitioners to spot early signs of difficulties and effectively support children’s learning and development.
Workshop 4: Beyond the Bucket
Do you feel that you have tried lots of things, but the children in your setting continue to find it hard to focus and maintain their attention? This practical workshop will explore the reasons why strategies may not have been effective and provide you with ideas that you can take back to your setting and share with parents. This will include, how to adapt your environment, some practical strategies and resources all with focus on supporting children's attention.
Early bird price (Until 31 December 2024) £65.00
