Animal experiences at Staunton Farm

Come and join us behind the scenes and meet your favourite animal, during this exclusive animal experience session. 

This is a private one-hour session for a maximum of 2 people. All sessions take place before the farm opens, between 9-10am, on a date of your choice.

You can choose to meet 1 of the following groups of animals:

• Rabbits and Guinea pigs
• Jersey Cows
• Goats
• Sheep
• Pigs
• Ponies and Donkeys
• Farm birds (Chickens, Ducks and Rhea)
• Llamas and Alpacas

Please purchase your experience online.  Once you have your order confirmation, please email liana.norman@hants.gov.uk to book your session date, subject to availability.

During the session you will be guided by a member of staff and will be able to feed, clean and handle your chosen animal. There will also be opportunities to groom, walk or provide enrichment for some of the animals, depending on the species. There will be opportunities to take lots of photos and ask the member of staff any questions you may have.

The cost of the session includes entrance to the farm for the rest of the day and two cups of animal feed.

Additional information

Date availability Only 1 session per day is offered so we cannot guarantee you will be able to book for your preferred date.  If you would like to check availability in advance before purchase, please email liana.norman@hants.gov.uk.

Parking Parking is in the main car park off Middle Park Way.  On your way out simply enter your registration into the iPad at the Visitor Centre for free parking. 

What to wear Please wear outdoor type clothing which you do not mind getting mucky. We can provide you with overalls if you prefer. Ensure you are wearing suitable footwear such as, walking boots, wellies, or sturdy trainers. Steel toed capped boots is recommended when working with large livestock.

Wet weather The session will be outdoors and will go ahead in all weather conditions, unless the farm closes during extreme weather (storms, high winds etc.).  You will have the opportunity to re-schedule your session if we cancel your session. 

Where to meet Please meet outside the Visitor Centre at 9am. 

Under 8 year olds All children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult taking part in the session as well.  Children aged over 8 years old and under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult that may watch the session from outside of the paddock, but not take part.

Refunds This ticket is non-refundable. 

Behaviour Anyone attending animal experience sessions must follow the instructions of the staff leading their session, for their own safety and the well-being of the animal.  Anyone not following instructions will be asked to leave the farm immediately. 

Substitution of animals On rare occasions we may need to substitute your chosen animal on the day if there are extenuating circumstances such as animal illness.

All information held by Staunton will be stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act and will not be shared with any third parties.
