Animal experiences at Staunton Farm

Meet your favourite animal for as little as £50! Exclusive one to one personal session led by our experienced team allowing you to get up close and personal with the animals on the farm.

This is a one-hour session for up to 2 people. During the session you will get to meet an animal of your choice. You can choose from:
- Rabbits and guinea pigs
- Ferrets
- Goats/sheep
- Cows
- Pigs
- Equines – Shetland ponies and donkeys.
- Birds – chickens, ducks, and rhea.
- Exotics – llamas, alpacas, and reptiles.

During the session, you will be with a member of staff and will be able to either handle, feed, clean or groom (species dependent) the animal of your choice. You may also get the opportunity to provide environmental enrichment and witness different behaviours in your chosen species. There will be plenty of opportunities to take lots of photos and ask the member of staff any questions you may have. The cost of the session is £50, and this includes entrance to the farm for the rest of the day and two cups of animal feed.

Additional information

Please park in the main car park, parking is free for all experiences. Please ask your experience leader at the end of the session for the parking code and enter this code and your registration when leaving. Please wear old outdoor type clothing which you do not mind getting mucky. We can provide you with overalls if you prefer. Ensure you are wearing suitable footwear such as, walking boots, wellies, or sturdy trainers. Steel toed capped boots is recommended when working with large livestock.
You will need to purchase the experience on the online shop and then email Staunton.education@hants.gov.uk to book a date and time. Please confirm in the notes section which animal you have chosen.
All information held by Staunton will be stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act and will not be shared with any third parties.

Terms and conditions

  • Please check in with the reception team at the Farm Shop. Your activity leader will meet you there. Please bring a copy of your e-receipt with you which can be on your device
  • Please ensure you arrive 5 minutes before your session time
  • The activities will take place around Staunton Farm. Please make sure you are dressed appropriate for the weather, warm clothes, and waterproofs are advisable
  • Please note this ticket is non-refundable. In the case of animal illnesses or animals being off show, we will contact you beforehand to rearrange your session
  • Under 8s must be accompanied by an adult who will be the second person on the session
  • The session will run in all weathers, with some adjustments if necessary
  • Due to the nature of the activities and working in close proximity to animals, for the safety of both participants and the animals, if you are not behaving in accordance with the rules set out by your activity leader, you will be asked to leave the session
