10.00am to 4.00pm

This workshop is designed for people interested developing their linoprinting practice. You will learn how to design, carve and print layered images using multiple plates to create multicoloured prints.

Aylsa Williams and Mandy Smith, are artist printmakers and exhibit regularly in Southampton and beyond with a passion for sharing their linoprinting knowledge.

They will guide you through designing two A6 lino-blocks, where each block is carved to print a different colour or layer of the final image whilst registering these blocks accurately.   They will experiment with colour variations to create vibrant prints.  The images can be based on your own sketches or ideas (but this is not essential). They will guide you in carving and mark making to make the most of your image, and importantly how to ink and print your linoblocks to give the best results. 

All materials are included, please bring an apron or wear old clothes as the inks can stain clothing. Parking and tea & coffee are included.
