Care to Move adopts an empowering whole workforce approach to support and motivate older people to make different decisions (in the longer term) to better contribute to their health, well-being, confidence and independence.

This educational training course is informed by behaviour change theory and the research and is based on two themes

1. communication skills to have purposeful conversations about movement

2. pre-set movements and prompts

The movement prompts and conversation starters are designed to give care and support workers and volunteers the confidence to broach the topic of movement during their existing interactions knowing that the information is accurate and informed by best practice.

If a place needs to be cancelled, this must be provided more than 2 weeks ahead of the course, with written approval from the participant’s manager.
