Join our half-term interactive storytelling session with staff from Windsor Castle's Royal Collection Trust.
Why was the Castle built in Windsor? Learn about the story of the oldest, inhabited castle in the world and explore a Castle under siege.
Who has what it takes to be a chivalrous knight? We are looking for fearless, trustworthy, generous and loyal applicants who are good with a sword.
Suitable for children aged 5-11
Session Learning Objectives:
- Discover the Castle’s history and its development from wooden fortress to stone palace.
- Imagine what it was like to be trained to be a knight, such as a Knight of the Garter, and to live by their code of chivalry.

Encourage discussion about the need for knights to wear armour for protection and to have coats of arms to identify them.
