A fun filled 5-week course that explores the role of colour within our acrylic paintings, colour relationships, how to harness the power of colour and apply effectively to create vibrant artworks. Painting and drawing can provide a release from the pressures of day to day life. It concentrates the mind in one place and working with vibrant colours can be mood enhancing. The course is designed to be informative, inspiring and fun.
Learning Goals:
- Demonstrate using a colour wheel effectively, increase confidence around the language of colour, apply colours to create a vibrant butterfly study using acrylics
- Discuss the concept of Pointillism, explain how placement and ratio of colour can evoke depth then apply this concept to create your own dotty still life or landscape study using acrylics
- Identify how colour can be used emotively within landscape to convey atmosphere and mood
- Demonstrate blending colour using Polychrome coloured pencils to produce a stylised figurative drawing
- Self-evaluate how engaging with art can improve your wellbeing
