Creative Curiosity: Beginners Introduction to Still-Life Drawing and Painting
Tadley Library

10.00am to 2.00pm
To build confidence describing, planning and creating a still life artwork.
Learning Goals:
- Describe still life using specific terminology related to still life art
- Identify how to arrange objects to create a visually interesting and balanced composition
- Use light and shadow to represent form
- Apply a variety of marks to add texture, gaining experience with different materials and techniques
- Create your own drawn or painted still life artwork
- Demonstrate a unique approach, expressing your own unique vision
Who is this course for: Anyone interested in observational drawing and painting. Beginners are welcome as are improvers
Previous knowledge or experience: No previous experience is necessary
How will I learn: Tutor demonstration, modelling and explanation then practical application
How will I be assessed: Your tutor will talk to you about self-critique, how to analyse and critique your own work
What shall I bring: Acrylic/watercolour paint as preferred, brushes, an apron and your chosen surface eg canvas and mixed media paper

If a learner decides to withdraw from a course before a course begins, the following charges should be made:
- 21 working days or more before course starts a full refund will be issued
- 7 - 20 working days before course starts a £10 admin fee will be charged
- Less than 7 working days before the course starts no refund will be made
This course is aimed at Hampshire residents aged 19+ Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
