10.00am to 12.30pm

Join local artist and educator Rachel Davis for a gentle introduction into drawing and painting. We will turn drawing on its head as we learn to look together. The course will guide you through colour mixing and culminate in you painting your very own acrylic wildflower meadow. You will be supplied with a personal sketchbook. This is intended to be your own creative safe space for mindfulness. It can be a place to research, develop ideas and help you relax into your creativity.

Learning Goals:

  • Demonstrate at least 2 observational drawing techniques
  • List colours in a colour wheel and apply
  • Mix at least 3 vibrant, fresh secondary colours and apply to create texture, depth and atmosphere
  • Self-evaluate how engaging with art can improve your wellbeing
  • Describe the benefit of using your personal sketchbook as a creative space to explore ideas, support mindfulness, and reflect on your artistic journey
