This course explores how to help children develop positive attitudes to mathematics, encouraging curiosity, pattern seeking, problem solving, discussion, and confidence to make mistakes. It focuses on high quality provision and practice for Mathematical Development in Early Years settings, covering progression of early mathematical skills, mathematics in everyday experiences and continuous provision, the role of adults in supporting thinking, and the characteristics of effective mathematical learning.
