Elevate Your Drawing Skills: Drawing for Improvers

Yateley Library

Saturday 1st, 8th, 15th and 29th March 2025

10.00am to 12.00pm

Building on the techniques taught in ‘Drawing for Beginners’, you will develop skills and
accuracy in using line and tone. You will learn about composition, perspective, and practising drawing objects from life. The sessions will be a mix of exercises and time for you to draw.

Learning Goals:

  • Apply the use of basic drawing techniques from previous learning
  • Use at least 3 different techniques (including box method, envelope method, ratio and angle checking) to group reference objects for drawing in a manner that demonstrates good composition
  • Understand and demonstrate how drawing objects from life can sharpen your observational skills
  • Describe and demonstrate the rules of perspective when drawing

Who is this course for: People who would love to improve their drawing skills and confidence in a fun, supportive and encouraging environment

Previous knowledge or experience: You should either have taken the previous Drawing for Beginners course or have some previous drawing experience, the tutor will contact you before the course starts if relevant

How will I learn: You will learn from watching the tutor demonstrate techniques then having a go yourself

How will I be assessed: You will receive encouragement and constructive feedback throughout the sessions

What shall I bring: Materials list provided a week prior to the course. Please contact the tutor if you require the list sooner (kristin.rawcliffe@gmail.com)

If a learner decides to withdraw from a course before a course begins, the following charges should be made: 

  • 5 working days or more before course starts a full refund will be issued

Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
