This course will introduce a variety of watercolour techniques, encouraging participants to explore and develop their own expressive painting style. As the weeks progress, these techniques will build upon one another, leading to the creation of unique and personal artworks. Alongside artistic development, the course offers a calming and supportive space for reflection and self-expression—nurturing wellbeing through the mindful and therapeutic practice of painting with watercolours.

Learning Goals:

  • Identify and discuss the subject of watercolour; including examples of artist’s work and the differences between more traditional and experimental watercolour
  • Identify and apply appropriate visual language regarding both traditional and experimental watercolour techniques to your own artwork and in your final finished outcomes
  • Identify and apply both traditional and experimental watercolour techniques, media, tools and equipment to your own artwork. Review your own creative practice
  • To self-evaluate how engaging with art can improve your wellbeing
