The aim of this Level 2 Food Safety Course is to teach best practices for handling food safely, and maintaining hygiene standards to prevent foodborne illnesses, cross contamination and food poisoning.
Learning Goals:
- Identify how individuals can take responsibility for food safety in the workplace.
- List three ways to keep yourself clean and hygienic in food environments.
- Describe the importance of keeping work areas clean and hygienic.
- Describe the importance of keeping food safe.
About the course: This is an excellent introduction to Food Safety in Catering and will benefit all employees at all levels, particularly those who hold, or are about to hold, a food safety role within their catering organisation, or looking to work in schools, or other business areas that offer food onsite to children or employees. Food Safety has become an extremely important part of all of our lives in recent years due to the increase in food processing and catering outlets, restaurants and increased awareness. If you are considering a career within these industries, then this Food Safety course will equip you with a wide range of skills and competency within this subject area. The course will clarify aspects of food safety which many of us believe to be complex and daunting. The importance of food safety in catering is underpinned by health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training. Successful candidates will be awarded a national Level 2 qualification which will provide an ideal platform to higher level training or career development.
