Get Colour Confident: Learn to Mix Colours Using Acrylic Paint

The aim of this workshop is to demystify colour mixing and help learners gain confidence in using paint colours. Through a combination of demonstrations, discussion and practical exercises, participants will learn how to understand colour relationships, avoid muddy mixtures, and mix a wide range of colours with a limited palette, giving them the skills and confidence to enhance all of their future paintings.

Learning Goals:

• Understand the fundamentals of colour mixing by exploring colour theory, warm and cool primaries, colour temperature.
• Develop practical colour mixing skills to create a wide range of clean, harmonious colours, neutrals and natural tones using a limited palette.
• Build confidence in observing and matching colour by applying colour mixing techniques to real-life subjects, enabling students to make informed colour choices in their own paintings.

Who is this course for: This course is for people who would love to improve their confidence and skills in mixing colour using acrylic paint in a fun, supportive and encouraging environment.

Previous knowledge or experience: No previous experience is necessary.

How will I learn: You will learn from watching the tutor demonstrate techniques then having a go yourself.

How will I be assessed: You will receive encouragement and constructive feedback throughout the sessions.
