Golden Leaves and Hidden Stories: An Autumn Tree of Life Workshop

Saturday 7th and 14th November 2026 

10.00am to 1.00pm

Taking inspiration from Gustav Klimt’s iconic artwork, we will create our own mixed media tree of life artwork

Learning Goals:

• Describe how you developed your tree layer by layer
• Identify what tools and processes to use when and where eg painting, drawing, collaging, stencilling
• Use a variety of tools and processes to build surface decoration
• Apply shape, colour, texture and golf leaf elements
• Create an individual outcome
• Demonstrate how this activity improved your well being

Who is this course for: Anyone interested in finding out more about mixed media techniques, exploring how being creative might boost their well-being, anyone interested in art history

Previous knowledge or experience: None necessary but you may wish to familiarise yourself with the imagery we will take inspiration from

How will I learn: Visual supports, tutor demonstration and through practical application. Our groups are small ensuring lots of personalised, individual 1:1 support is on hand.

How will I be assessed: Self-assessment, supportive peer to peer evaluation

What shall I bring: Please wear an apron or dress for mess. Please bring an A4 sized canvas board, some rough paper, acrylic paints and brushes. £2 payable to the tutor for gold leaf and adhesive.

Refund: If a learner decides to withdraw from a course before a course begins, the following charges should be made:

• 21 working days or more before course starts a full refund will be issued
• 7 - 20 working days before course starts a £10 admin fee will be charged
