Developing Toileting in the Early Years – In House Training

This AET module will help you to understand how social communication needs can impact on children developing independent toileting skills. The training will support adults to work together to remove barriers and make reasonable adjustments to support toileting independence.

Aims of the Module

  • To understand that autism is a DIFFERENCE not a DEFICIT
  • To understand the importance of working with others to support children to develop independent toileting skills
  • To develop knowledge of how to support children to achieve toileting independence
  • To plan and deliver a Child-Centred Toileting Plan, that will ensure children make progress in developing toileting skills

Modules can be delivered in your pre-school, nursery setting or to a childminding group.
