Inclusion Team AET: Autism and Anxiety in the Early Years

Thursday 6th March 2025 - 9.30am to 12.30pm - Face-to-face - Fareham area

This half day training will give practitioners an understanding of what we mean by anxiety, how it appears in young children with social communication needs, what the triggers are and what you can do to support the children in your setting.

The session is suitable for staff/practitioners working with children and young people across the three phases in both mainstream and specialist services.

You will be encouraged to reflect on your own experiences with anxiety, what you have found useful in reducing your own anxiety, and what has worked for you in practice when looking to address anxious thoughts and feelings in children and young people.

After completing this module, you will be able to understand:

• How autistic children and young people might express anxiety
• What can cause anxiety in autistic children and young people
• What you can do to prevent and reduce anxiety in autistic children and young people
