Leadership and Management Committee Skills – Bitesize Learning

The focus of this introductory training is to explore the responsibilities and accountability for those in governance at childcare provision.

This short presentation on leadership and management focuses on the duties for trustees, directors and owners, it can be used as a workshop for childcare and early education setting leaders and your management /governance to understand the key aspects of accountability for those in leadership and management.

You can use the presentation slides and links to support the development of leadership and management in your setting and to consider how you can review and evaluate systems and processes that you have in place, building in a structure of continual improvement to your business processes.

This training will cover:

•         Types of Governance Structures in childcare settings

•         What is a management committee?

•         Charitable status

•         Responsibilities of trustees

•         Ofsted and the voluntary sector

•         Committee membership

•         Roles of Committee members and officers

•         Management and accountability

•         EYFS               

Please allow at least 2 hours to complete this eLearning course.  The materials contain a mixture of information, clips and quizzes to support the learning. Please note this training is run through the SfYC Moodle pages and you will therefore require computer and speaker access. You will also need to provide an up-to-date email address to enable access to the e-learning.
