Thursday 11th June 2026 - 9.30am to 12.30pm - Basingstoke area

How to help children ‘develop positive attitudes and interests in mathematics, look for patterns and relationships, spot connections, ‘have a go’, talk to adults and peers about what they notice and not be afraid to make mistakes.’

This course offers an exploration of high-quality provision and practice for Mathematical Development in Early Years settings.

Themes covered include:

• the progression of early mathematical concepts and skills
• mathematics in everyday experiences, mathematical exploration throughout continuous provision
• the role of the adult in supporting mathematical thinking, concepts and skills
• the characteristics of effective mathematical learning
