This course is designed for practitioners working in early years settings who want to deepen children’s learning by making the most of everyday talk. In line with the Department for Education’s Giving Every Child the Best Start in Life strategy, it emphasises the importance of high quality adult–child interactions in supporting children’s thinking, language development and understanding of the world. The course explores how purposeful, responsive conversations are central to effective practice in the EYFS and to giving children the best possible start in life.
