In Conversation: Simon McCleave, T.M. Payne and G.D. Wright - Basingstoke Discovery Centre - Saturday 25th October 2025 - 11.00am

As part of Only Murders in the Library, a crime writing festival at Basingstoke Discovery Centre.

Simon McCleave is a multi-million-selling crime novelist and #1 Amazon bestseller. He is originally from South London and spent more than twenty years working in film and television on major TV series like The Bill, Silent Witness, and Midsomer Murders before moving to North Wales with his wife and family. He has two bestselling crime series set in North Wales' Snowdonia National Park and the Island of Anglesey. Filming of his debut novel 'The Snowdonia Killings' is due to start in autumn 2025.

Having worked in the criminal justice system for 18 years, T.M. Payne now writes crime novels set in Liverpool, featuring Sheridan Holler. 'Play with Fire' is the latest of her murder cases.

Former police officer G.D. Wright became a full-time writer after being forced to retire for health reasons. His books are tense and gripping police procedurals with an emotional twist. His latest novel 'Into the Fire' features DS Sue Wilmott as she investigates an unsolved murder case.

Event running time is around 40 minutes plus time for a Q&A. Waterstones will be present for book sales and signing before and after the main event.
