ITC Outdoor First Aid

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of those working away from immediate assistance (more than 30 mins) in the remote and rural regions of the UK.

It is nationally recognised and is the right level to support many outdoor qualifications, such as: Forest Schools, Skiing, Mountain Biking (MIAS) and Mountain Leader (ML).  It is also appropriate for more adventurous outdoor visits.

Topics include: roles & responsibilities, dealing with collapse (with and without breathing), choking, bleeding, shock, major illnesses, torso and limb injuries, environmental effects, heat and cold injuries, using first aid kit, outdoor specific scenarios and outdoor incident management, answering queries such as when or how to remove boots, helmets and looking after a casualty for some hours.

This qualification is designed to provide outdoor incident management skills.  Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical, with elements occurring out of doors, so outdoor clothing is essential.  The course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance.

Upon successful completion you will gain an ITC Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid valid for 3 years.

• Cancellation before 12 weeks of course start date- Hampshire Outdoors will reimburse 90%
• Cancellation between 12 and 6 weeks of course - Hampshire Outdoors will reimburse 50%
• Cancellation within 6 weeks of course participants are liable for the full fee, no refund will be available
