9.00am to 11.30am or 12.15pm to 2.45pm

Must be able to ride a bike confidently, and be ready for on road environment

This course is for children inYear 5 and above.

This is a half-dayLevel2Bikeability course is for those who can already cycle and are looking to improve their awareness and safety on the roads.

The first part of the session is conducted on a playground assessing basic cycling skills and ensuring that students are safe to participate with on the road training, followed by on-road cycling using quiet residential streets. The main aim of the course is that the children will be able to make a short journey in a safer manner and be more aware of road safety issues.

Please ensure that all children are appropriately dressed for all weather types. If they wish to bring water, then they must have a means to carry this during the session.

In order to participate in the course, all children must be a confident rider, show control when cycling one-handed and be able to go out on to the roads.

The activity will take place outside, so please ensure that appropriate clothing is worn.

  • Each child will need a fully operational bike withtwoworking brakes and a cycle helmet (we have some available on request)
  • Children must wear a helmet
  • A hi-vis jacket will be given to any child who is cycling on the road - you can bring your own if you would like to do so

At the end of the training the children will be given a certificate and badge. After the course has been completed, you will be sent a unique URL to access your child’s rider outcomes and instructor feedback, called the Bikeability Club.

The course will be delivered by our Hampshire Outdoors Bikeability Team and is fully funded. If you are unable to attend your session, please let us know as soon as possible as we may have a waiting list.
