This practical course aims to provide you with the skills to move and handle people safely. The course content follows current best practice and GB legislation information, advice and guidance. The key focus of the day is to ensure you are able to move and handle individuals, balancing their needs and your safety.
This course is for organisations who provide support for adults living in a health and social care setting.

Key Messages
Demonstrate how anatomy and physiology is linked to safe principles in relation to moving and handling individuals.
Define how legislation and agreed ways of working minimise risk when moving and handling individuals and who to seek advice from and/or involve others when moving and handling an individual.
Prepare individuals before moving and handling and identify safety requirements when using equipment.
