An introduction to creating playful painted poppies using watercolour paint, and ink and pen. Exploring mark making and illustration techniques to create unique pieces of artwork

Learning Goals:

• Create exciting and unique collages, painted and embellished artwork.
• Explore and apply a range of watercolour and illustration (drawing, sketching and mark making) materials and techniques.
• Identify, explore and apply basic colour theory, colour mixing and composition.
• Create finished artwork.

About the course: This workshop will introduce you to creating artwork exploring the theme of playful poppies. You will explore how different artists have created poppy inspired artwork, create fun and fluid painted watercolour poppies and use drawing and mark making techniques, to produce finished artwork.

Who is this course for: Beginners to intermediate level

Previous knowledge or experience: No experience required and all abilities welcome

How will I learn: Tutor demonstrations, questions and answers, practical activities

How will I be assessed: Formative assessment only through Q and A, practical activities/samples/artwork

What shall I bring: Apron or wear old clothing, notebook or journal (optional)
