Painting Objects in Watercolour - Creating a Still Life

10.00am to 12.00pm
Free tuition, £10 for materials
To be able to paint, in watercolour, a variety of materials and create the impression of realistic objects within a still life composition
Learning Goals:
- Define the role of colour and tone in combination to create realism
- Demonstrate how to paint a variety of objects using each medium, (eg metal, ceramics, cloth and fruit) in at least 3 compositions
- Apply your knowledge of watercolour in a layered approach
- Describe the impact of using watercolours on your wellbeing
Who is this course for: This course funded by UK government is for Hampshire residents aged 19+ who are wishing to gain an understanding of watercolour and wanting to create paintings that include objects
Previous knowledge or experience: None required except lots of enthusiasm, willingness to learn and a desire to have fun
How will I learn: Everyone will learn though demonstration and practical application
How will I be assessed: Regular critique during lessons from a professional artist
What shall I bring: Please bring £10 to give to the artist as a contribution towards his materials. (Please note there is a range of paints provided and the palette range of colours is quite extensive)
Next steps: Next steps include Understanding colour in painting – a course designed to help the painter develop an fuller understanding colour theory
This course, funded by Hampshire Achieves, is aimed at Hampshire residents aged 19+. Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have. If you have limited mobility which could affect your ability to safely self-evacuate, please let us know when booking.
