An introduction to the basic and more advanced functions of your camera to help you
take photographs you are proud of.
Learning Goals:
- Demonstrate use of semi auto modes and compose a photo using rule of thirds
- Research and list online photo editing opportunities, listing at least 3 photo editing sites/ programmes
- Plan a landscape photography, demonstrating use of histogram and the rule of thirds
- Describe and demonstrate aperture, ISO, shutter speed and semi auto modes
- Describe three ways of digitally sharing photographs
Who is this course for: Beginner photographers wanting a better understanding of how their camera works and the basics of photographic composition. You will be encouraged to take photos in the classroom and outside and explore the features on your camera as they arise
Previous knowledge or experience: No previous experience is required for this course although a basic understanding of your camera would be helpful
How will I learn: By discussion, demonstration and practical tasks
How will I be assessed: By completion of tasks, questions and answers
What shall I bring: A digital camera and compatible memory card and charged batteries Mobile phone cameras can also be used but teaching of semi auto modes and aperture may not be relevant depending on the phone camera model

This course is aimed at Hampshire residents aged 19+ Attendance is expected at each session to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience and to minimise disruption for other learners. Please advise the venue/tutor of any absence you may have.
